1. Service Description
PageMod ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered browser extension and companion backend services (collectively, the "Service"), including:
- Browser Extension: A user script manager that supports creating, editing, and running standard user scripts (UserScript), as well as generating standalone single-file HTML utility apps.
- AI Coding Backend: Natural-language-driven AI model that generates and modifies user scripts and app code through conversation.
- Frontend Tools: Browser-side utilities including DOM element inspection, page screenshots, and network request monitoring.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.
2. Account Registration and Security
- API Key: The Service uses an API Key (format cok_*) for authentication and quota management. You may obtain one through platform registration, or automatically via OAuth login (Google/GitHub/Microsoft).
- Account Security: You are fully responsible for all activity under your API Key. Keep your API Key secure and do not share it. If you discover an API Key leak or unauthorized use, contact us immediately.
- Registration Information: You agree to provide true and accurate registration information. Using false identities or unauthorized third-party accounts may result in termination.
3. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You are solely responsible for all scripts and apps you create, install, and run using the Service. You agree not to:
- Create or distribute malicious scripts, including but not limited to: malware, ad fraud scripts, cryptominers, phishing scripts, or privacy-stealing scripts;
- Use the Service to attack, disrupt, or impair the normal operation of any website, server, or network;
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations, including data protection, intellectual property, and computer fraud and abuse laws;
- Violate the terms of service or acceptable use policies of target websites;
- Embed or distribute illegal, infringing, pornographic, violent, hate speech, or otherwise inappropriate content in scripts;
- Circumvent the Service's quota limits, security measures, or access controls;
- Use the Service for large-scale scraping, crawling, or automated attacks;
- Impersonate others or falsify the source of information.
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to review user scripts and apps. If we discover content that violates the above, we may remove it and suspend or terminate the associated account without prior notice.
4. User Scripts and Third-Party Websites
- User scripts are injected into matching web pages via the Chrome userScripts API and may read and modify the target page's DOM, CSS, and JavaScript execution environment.
- User scripts may declare the following @grant capabilities: cross-origin requests (GM_xmlhttpRequest), cookie read/write (GM_cookie), clipboard write (GM_setClipboard), desktop notifications (GM_notification), file downloads (GM_download), and others. You should carefully review an installed script's @grant declarations.
- Running user scripts on target websites may violate those websites' terms of service. You should verify compliance before running scripts.
- We are not liable for any third-party website complaints, penalties, account bans, or other consequences arising from your scripts.
5. AI Model Providers
- The Service includes a shared AI model by default. Depending on your plan, you may also configure your own model provider API keys (BYOK), which the Service forwards to third-party AI providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Zhipu.
- When using your own model keys, AI conversation content is forwarded through the Service backend to your designated model provider. You are responsible for all usage of your own keys, including any charges incurred from the provider.
- We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content. AI output may contain errors, biases, or inappropriate material. You should independently review and validate all AI-generated code before use.
6. Intellectual Property
- Your Content: User scripts and app code you create through the Service (including AI-assisted output) belong to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over such content.
- The Service Itself: The PageMod browser extension, branding (name, logo), website, backend services, documentation, and all related code and design are our proprietary intellectual property, protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- AI-Generated Content: AI model providers may assert certain rights over content generated using their models. You should consult the applicable model provider's terms.
- Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or improvement ideas you provide to us may be freely used without obligation to you.
7. Usage Limits and Quotas
- The Service enforces quotas based on your plan (counted per AI request). When your quota is exceeded, the Service will be temporarily unavailable until the quota resets or you upgrade.
- We reserve the right to impose limits on concurrent containers, session duration, request frequency, and other technical parameters to ensure fair, stable service for all users.
- Long-idle sessions may be automatically terminated to free resources.
- We may adjust quota policies based on resource usage, with advance notice for material changes.
8. Data and Privacy
- Your script code, apps, settings, and API Keys are stored locally in your browser (Chrome Storage). We do not automatically collect or upload this data.
- AI conversation content is transmitted to the Service backend during active sessions for AI model processing. It is not persistently stored after the session ends.
- Frontend tools (element query, screenshot, network monitoring) only collect page data and send it to the backend for analysis when you explicitly trigger them.

9. Service Availability and Changes
- We strive to maintain Service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, failures, or other reasons.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated in advance through extension update notes, website announcements, or email.
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Modified terms become effective upon posting. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will meet your specific needs; (b) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) AI-generated code is correct, secure, or suitable; (d) user scripts will function properly on all target websites.
- You assume all risk from your use of the Service. We are not liable for any system failure, data loss, security vulnerability, or other damage resulting from the use of AI-generated code.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages (including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, loss of goodwill, or business interruption) arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Our aggregate liability under these Terms or the Service shall in no event exceed the amount you actually paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
- The above limitations do not apply to damages caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct, nor to liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law;
- Your user scripts or apps infringing third-party rights;
- Any illegal or unauthorized activity conducted using the Service.
13. Termination
- Termination by You: You may stop using the Service and uninstall the extension at any time. Uninstalling deletes local data; you may export data in advance via the backup feature.
- Termination by Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for: (a) violation of these Terms; (b) abuse of Service resources; (c) legal or regulatory requirements; (d) other reasonable cause. Termination may be without prior notice.
- Effect of Termination: Upon termination, you will no longer have access to the Service. Your API Key will become invalid, and backend data will be cleared. Locally stored data is unaffected (unless you delete it).
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict of law rules.
- Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may bring suit in a competent court with jurisdiction over us.
15. General Provisions
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, superseding any prior oral or written communications.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms.
